At first glance , we recognizes a Herbert George manufacturing , This is reinforced by the fact that this unit was manufactured in Chicago. Except that ... this device has nothing in common with those of George Herbert .
If you compare closely with an Imperial Debonair, we see that the bump formed by the viewfinder is symmetrically opposite considering the vertical from one camera to another. The trim surrounding the viewfinder is much larger on the Ettelson . The trigger is positioned at the front and not on the side.
The impression of similarity is therefore false. Nevertheless , one can ask about a sort of "inspiration" from a trademark by the other.
The Ettelson Mickey Mouse Camera is for fans of the little mouse . It is full length drawn close to the lens , and in effigy on the winding knob. On the release button of the back, the model name ends with a # 1, as if there had been from the brand some intends to establish a range of multiple devices.
A flash , also very similar to those manufactured by Herbert George , can be connected to the side of the device with two pins.
This bakelite camera was sold in a cardboard box containing a flash , a film and flash bulbs. This box was decorated with several designs , like stickers that travelers liked to paste on their luggage . They represent Disneyland and its major attractions. Several sources indicate that the product has been on sale in Disneyland California , opened in 1955. This probably explains its rarity, including in the United States .
